Help build the Dutch AI ecosystem

The AI Foundry is AdamI's community for AI engineers, ML engineers, data scientists and AI founders, now close to 2,000 members strong. It started as a physical space in Amsterdam, with dozens of startups under one roof and coverage in Het Parool, BNR and FD. It has led to partnerships and client relationships we would never have found any other way.

Now we want to take the next step, and that's where you come in.

You work from The Stack, Amsterdam's new AI hub, alongside AdamI's engineers and the startups and scale-ups building there. You are not on the sidelines of the AI ecosystem. You are right in the middle of it, helping to shape it.

Why a strategist

This is not a role where you manage an events calendar. You get a community with momentum, a network and a brand, and one question: what will you make of it?

You write the plan. You decide where the Foundry goes, which initiatives come next and how it becomes self-sustaining. That comes with your own budget, funded by partners, sponsors and new formats you create yourself. There is no shortage of ideas. We're looking for someone who makes choices, builds, and shows that it works.

What you'll do

• Grow the Foundry: attract the best engineers. Quality over quantity: we want good people to want to be part of it.
• Build the programme: Tech Talks, and whatever else you come up with. You keep the content strong.
• Bring in partners: tech companies, venues and players across the ecosystem. You find partners who want to invest in the community, and you build relationships that go beyond a single event.
• Know your community: who's in it, what can they do, what are they looking for? Together with our team, you set up a system to track this, using AI tooling rather than a spreadsheet.
• Connect people: some members are open to new opportunities, and some work at companies that want to get started with AI. You spot those matches first. This is not a recruitment role, but you are the link.
• Become a familiar face: you're at events across the city, you know the people who matter, and you become one of them.

You won't handle event operations on your own. You get support for that, so your time goes to strategy, relationships and growth.

What you bring

• You're entrepreneurial. You see a community not as a cost but as something of value, and you're eager to prove it.
• You get energy from bringing people together, and you have experience with communities, events, developer relations or an initiative of your own.
• You're curious about AI and enjoy talking with engineers about how they work and think.
• You're not afraid to ask a partner for a contribution, and you know how to build a plan and a budget that add up.
• You have 2 to 10 years of work experience. Who you are matters more than how long you've been somewhere.
• You live in or around Amsterdam and like to be where things happen.
• You speak fluent Dutch and English.
