Role Overview
The Technical AI Product Owner bridges business vision and technical execution, driving AI initiatives from concept to measurable impact. Building upon an existing AI Roadmap, the Product Owner will be responsible for ensuring its execution while continuously refining and expanding it based on evolving business priorities, performance insights, and emerging opportunities.
This role requires a combination of strategic oversight and practical execution skills, with a focus on translating organizational objectives into actionable AI solutions. The Product Owner will collaborate closely with both technical and business stakeholders across diverse cultural and organizational contexts.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and Enhance the AI Roadmap: Build upon the existing AI roadmap by ensuring timely delivery of current priorities, while continuously refining and expanding it in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders.
- Drive Business Impact: Actively identify, explore, and prioritize AI opportunities that address key business challenges and deliver measurable outcomes aligned with organizational goals.
- Develop and Build AI Use Cases: Translate strategic priorities into working AI solutions by designing, developing, and deploying new use cases. This includes contributing directly to code repositories and collaborating closely with engineering teams to ensure technical robustness, scalability, and business value.
- Align Strategy and Delivery: Translate strategic objectives into concrete deliverables, balancing immediate business needs with long-term innovation goals.
- Engage with Stakeholders: Collaborate effectively with C-level executives, data teams, and business leaders to align technical capabilities with strategic ambitions.
- Foster Cross-Cultural Collaboration: Build strong relationships and alignment across geographically and culturally diverse teams, including on-site engagement in Suriname when required.
Tools and Environment
- AI Platforms: Azure OpenAI, Orq.ai, Azure Foundry, and enterprise-scale AI deployment environments
- Product Strategy: Roadmap execution and iteration, data-driven prioritization, and outcome measurement aligned with business KPIs
- Technical Collaboration: Practical understanding of AI engineering or software development to engage effectively with technical teams
The Ideal Profile
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in AI engineering or software development, with demonstrated experience in a technical product ownership or AI project leadership role
- Strategic and Hands-On: Capable of rapidly understanding business processes, identifying high-value AI opportunities, and driving implementation from concept to production
- Cross-Cultural Leader: Experienced in managing across different cultural contexts and driving impact in international environments
- Executive Communicator: Skilled in engaging with C-level stakeholders, defining strategic direction, and translating it into actionable plans
- Independent and Results-Oriented: Self-sufficient, proactive, and capable of achieving both short-term deliverables and long-term objectives
- Language: Native-level proficiency in Dutch is strongly preferred; excellent command of English is required
